Heart-Healthy Food

Suggestions:

1. A handful of healthy nuts such as almonds and walnuts will satisfy your hunger and help your heart.
2. Berries are full of heart-healthy phytonutrients and soluble fiber like blueberries, strawberries, cranberries, cherries, and raspberries.
3. Red, yellow, and orange vegetables such as carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash are loaded with carotenoids, fiber, and vitamins.
4. Dark chocolate is good for your heart. Just make sure that it is at least 70% cocoa.
5. Omega 3 essential fatty acids are heart-healthy. Flax seeds are one of the richest plant sources of omega-fatty acids – their benefits reach much farther than just the heart!
