THE ANCIENT TECHNIQUE OF DRY BRUSHING
Dry Brushing is an ancient detoxification technique used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine to help cleanse the body of toxins and improve circulation. It’s a simple but powerful technique that involves using a natural bristle brush to massage the skin in long strokes towards the heart. This stimulates lymphatic drainage, which helps remove toxins from the body, as well as exfoliating and cleansing the skin. Dry brushing also increases circulation and helps excrete toxins through sweat, aiding in overall detoxification.
The increase circulation can in turn increase your energy levels also, helping you to feel more energized and refreshed. Furthermore, it can help reduce cellulite by stimulating the breakdown of fatty deposits in the body. In short, dry brushing offers numerous benefits that can help you look and feel your best!
To Dry Brush at home yourself, start at your feet and brush upward toward the heart. Similarly, when you start on your arms, begin at the hands and work upward. Use firm, small strokes upward or work in a circular motion. For the stomach, work in a clockwise direction. Be sure to choose a brush that is firm but soft so it is not too harsh on your skin, as well as one that can reach your back and down your legs if it is difficult for you to reach those areas. Spend at least three to five minutes on dry brushing once a day ideally before you shower or bathe and start seeing and feeling the benefits almost instantly!
