Butyrate
It is a short chain fatty acid, generally produced by intestinal microbiota. It favours intestinal homeostasis contributing to: epithelium trophism, protecting the intestinal barrier and exerting anti-inflammatory activity. It also contributes to the prevention of the onset of opportunistic infections, which are rare, but the most severe side effects of the antibiotic treatment. It also reduces all the typical gastrointestinal symptoms of antibiotic treatments, such as abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea, nausea.
Saccharomyces boulardii SP92
Description
Antibiotic treatments are necessary to eradicate infections but damage the gut microbiota, leading to fastidious gastrointestinal symptoms.
Sodium butyrate favours intestinal homeostasis contributing to epithelium trophism, stimulating the expression of tight junction proteins and reducing inflammation. It inhibits the growth of some opportunistic pathogenic bacteria. Moreover, it reduces gastrointestinal symptoms.
